Science is broken into alchemy, astronomy, herology, and magical creatures. These can be studied in any order. we started with alchemy because of the tie to the Sorcerer’s Stone. Using Rocks and Minerals as the text we completed worksheets, activities, crafts.

We started with alchemy because of the tie to the Sorcerer’s Stone. Using Rocks and Minerals as the text we completed worksheets, activities, crafts. We explored the rock cycle with this Starburst model and painted rocks with a kit from Walmart or maybe Hobby Lobby?

We listened to Rock Poetry and ate a sedimentary rock model for snack.

To wrap up the alchemy study we made “Magic Bars” as my family called them growing up but they were a great example of sedimentary rocks and how each layer is formed and that the pressures of the Earth flatten and form the rocks…and they were tasty!
